Novectra is an installation company specialising in smart and sustainable energy solutions. As a specialist installer, we help businesses and organisations with energy generation, battery storage, energy management and grid optimisation. Our integrated solutions combine electrical engineering, energy technology and sustainability to create reliable, efficient and future-proof energy systems.

Client:
Energiebedrijf Stroomdorpe

Project location:
Sas van Gent, in the Dutch province of Zeeland.

Objective:
To generate renewable energy and help alleviate pressure on the electricity grid through battery storage.

One of Zeeland’s largest rooftop solar projects

What started as a project plan in 2022 has now become a fully operational solar installation including batteries. Together with Stroomdorpe, NOVECTRA has successfully delivered one of Zeeland’s largest rooftop solar projects, with 4,500 solar panels installed across the available roof space.

The project is a significant step in Stroomdorpe’s sustainability ambitions and demonstrates what can be achieved when client and installation partner work closely together from the very beginning.

4,500 solar pnels mark a major step towards a more sustainable region.

From project plan to construction site

The first plans for the project were developed back in 2022. From the outset, the ambition was clear: make effective use of the available rooftops to generate renewable energy on a large scale.

Turning that ambition into a functioning installation required much more than simply installing thousands of solar panels. The project called for detailed preparation, careful technical planning and close coordination between Stroomdorpe and NOVECTRA.

For Glenn Jonkman. Founder of NOVECTRA, the project is a good example of the value of that approach:

“This project shows what is possible when organisations find each other early and work together towards a shared goal. The preparation has been intensive, but that gives us a solid foundation for the installation phase. We are looking forward to the months ahead.”

Glenn Jonkman, NOVECTRA

Together, the teams worked through the various technical and practical aspects of the installation, from the mounting systems and cable routes to logistics, safety and the detailed planning of the work on site.

This extensive preparation created a solid foundation for the construction phase and helped ensure that the installation could be carried out safely and efficiently.

For NOVECTRA, the project is a strong example of the value of involving the right partners at an early stage.

For Stroomdorpe, the completion of the installation marks the end of a journey that began several years ago.

“Seeing the installation now fully completed is a fantastic milestone for us. A lot of work, coordination and preparation has gone into making this project a reality. We are very proud of the result and of what we have achieved together with NOVECTRA.”

Jaap Verolme, Stroomdorpe

The project in numbers

The scale of the finished installation is perhaps best illustrated by the numbers:

  • 4,500 solar panels
  • Approximately 60,000 metres of string cable
  • 18,432 screws
  • More than 500 metres of cable tray
  • Large quantities of mounting and installation materials

Behind these figures is a considerable amount of coordination and craftsmanship. Thousands of individual components had to come together to create one integrated solar installation, with every panel, cable and connection forming part of the final system.

For the teams on site, this meant working methodically across the different roof areas while maintaining a constant focus on quality, safety and efficiency.

Project completed

With the installation now completed and handed over, Stroomdorpe’s rooftops are contributing to renewable energy generation in the region.

The project demonstrates the potential of existing commercial and industrial roof space as part of the energy transition. Rather than requiring additional land, large-scale rooftop installations can make productive use of space that is already available.

For NOVECTRA, projects like this are about turning sustainability ambitions into practical, reliable solutions. From the initial plans and technical preparation through to installation and handover, every stage contributes to the final result.

After years of preparation and months of installation, the project has now been successfully completed and handed over.
