About this project
Novectra is an installation company specialising in smart and sustainable energy solutions. As a specialised installation company, we help businesses and organisations with energy generation, battery storage, energy management and grid optimisation. Our integrated solutions combine electrical engineering, energy technology and sustainability to deliver reliable, efficient and future-proof energy systems.
Client:
Private individual
Project location:
Biddinghuizen, the Netherlands
Objective:
Making the home more sustainable and more energy efficient through the installation of solar panels, an inverter, a home battery and a wallbox for smart, sustainable charging of electric cars.

A complete sustainability upgrade for a detached home
What started as an ambition to make a home more sustainable, more comfortable and more energy efficient has grown into a complete energy and climate solution. NOVECTRA has equipped the home with solar panels, a home battery, a charging solution for the electric car, electric underfloor heating and several air conditioning systems.
Combining these technologies creates an integrated solution in which energy generation, energy storage, electric driving, heating and cooling all come together.
Sustainable energy supply
The energy supply is built around 12 JA Solar 450 Wp Full Black solar panels, combined with 6 APsystems microinverters. The system has a total capacity of 5,400 Wp and an estimated annual yield of 4,737 kWh.
To use the generated energy as efficiently as possible, a 20 kWh KSTAR home battery has also been installed. For charging the electric car, the home has been fitted with a Zaptec wallbox.
The result is a home that not only generates its own renewable energy, but can also store that energy and use it for different applications in and around the house.
Climate control
Living comfort was part of the project too. NOVECTRA installed both underfloor heating and air conditioning.
Electric underfloor heating
Speedheat electric underfloor heating has been installed in the attic and the conservatory. In the attic, around 60.00 m² of the total 74.65 m² floor area is heated, with a total output of 6,350 watts. In the conservatory, around 33.60 m² of the total 38.12 m² is heated, with a total output of 4,450 watts. Both rooms can be controlled separately with a smart digital programmable thermostat with touchscreen. This makes it possible to match the heating to how each room is used.
Air conditioning
For active cooling and additional heating, a Daikin air conditioning system has been installed on the first floor. It consists of three anthracite FTXP20N indoor units connected to two Daikin 3MXM68A split outdoor units. A separate Daikin system has also been installed in the attic, with an FTXM50A indoor unit and matching RXM outdoor unit.
The air conditioning systems have been fully installed with the required refrigerant lines, control wiring, condensate drainage, isolator switches and power cabling. The outdoor units are mounted on Bigfoot support frames. The result is a complete, technically high-quality installation that provides cooling and can also contribute to heating.
With this combination of underfloor heating and air conditioning, the home has a modern, flexibly controllable climate solution that keeps it comfortable all year round, on warm summer days as well as in the colder months.
The project in numbers
The scale of the upgrade shows clearly in the key figures:
- 12 JA Solar 450 Wp Full Black solar panels
- 5,400 Wp total installed PV capacity
- Around 4,737 kWh estimated annual solar yield
- 6 APsystems microinverters
- 20 kWh KSTAR home battery
- 1 Zaptec wallbox
- 93.60 m² of heated floor area with Speedheat
- 10,800 watts total installed electric underfloor heating capacity
- 4 Daikin indoor units
- 3 Daikin outdoor units
- Around 40 metres of refrigerant pipework
Completed project
With the project finished, the home has a complete package of sustainable energy and climate solutions.
The solar panels generate renewable electricity, the KSTAR home battery makes it possible to store that energy, and the Zaptec wallbox offers a smart solution for electric driving. At the same time, the Speedheat underfloor heating and Daikin air conditioning systems keep the indoor climate pleasant.
For NOVECTRA, this project is a good example of how making a home sustainable can go further than just fitting solar panels. By treating energy generation, storage, electric transport, heating and cooling as one whole, you get a sustainable home that stays comfortable to live in for years.
