With a home battery, you store electricity when it’s available and use it when you need it. You can store surplus solar power from your own panels or, with the right energy contract and a smart energy management system, charge your battery from the grid when electricity prices are low.

A home battery stores electricity so you can use it later. If you have solar panels, you store surplus solar power during the day to use in the evening or at times when your panels generate less. This way you make more use of your own solar power and become less dependent on the grid.
A home battery can also charge from the grid when electricity prices are low, for example with a dynamic energy contract. A smart energy management system automatically decides when the battery charges and discharges, based on your usage, your solar generation and electricity prices.

The right battery capacity (kW) depends on your personal energy profile. A bigger battery isn’t automatically a better investment.
